"Clea and Larrimer", my first Urban Fantasy artwork, done for author Vicki Stiefel

Click on the image to see more of my portfolio.

Lately I have been working on several covers - and unfortunately cannot reveal any of them, yet

And this is one of my latest artworks - my first on the Urban Fantasy genre - which i did for a lovely author friend, Vicki Stiefel. I am very proud of this work, because it was both a challenge and a joy. The challenging part would be to make something "visually interesting and fitting for the genre", a genre which I had never worked with before. And it turned out that the process was fun. Vicki was very careful in guiding me about the physical aspects f her characters and the environment they should be represented, not to mention she is a brilliant human being, very kind and friendly.

I love the colors of this piece and how the characters fit so well together, not because I've painted it, but the vision Vicki had in mind was powerful.

These are Clea and Larrimer, the protagonists of Chest of Bone, her novel coming on February 2017, the first of The Afterworld Chronicles. You can read the first Chapter and learn more about the story HERE.
Look at this gorgeous logo!
If you are a fan of Urban Fantasy, this may be a nice read for your winter! Stay tuned, visit Vick Stiefel's website to learn more about her work.

Will her courage and desire to save this new world from darkness be enough? Or will Thea be the next victim to fall to the dark whispers of fate...

Th-thank you,” I stammered, feeling embarrassed as not only he but all the guards were looking at me like I was some sort of precious jewel.

Interrupting the awkwardness that Eli could see I was experiencing, he addressed all the guards at once. “We better keep moving so we make Aroben before nightfall.” And with that they seemed to move fluidly as one, surrounding Eli and myself, with Isaac taking the lead up front.

“Why did he call me Thea-Driel?” I whispered to Eli as he walked next to me.

“The last part of an Elf’s name tells others about who they are, their past and family. It is also used as a formality when first greeting another Elf, especially one in the royal family. Driel is your family name and was the name your mother and father were known by,” he said, a reminiscent expression on his face.

“What’s yours?” I asked.

“Actually you’ve already heard it. It’s Thill, Eli-Thill. I, and the other guard members, take on the name Thill once we become part of the elite guard, as we pledge our life to the throne and what it stands for. Our motto is Eryuslian, which roughly translates as ‘to serve and protect’.”

I live in Surrey, England, a short walk from the beautiful Windsor Park, with my husband Richard and our two gorgeous children Noah and Olivia. For me, writing is nothing short of an addiction and I often find myself sneaking out to my writing shed for just a few minutes, which can often turn into hours of pure, unadulterated bliss catching up with my characters and continuing their story. In-between writing, I teach in a primary school where there’s never a dull moment! I will also often be found Kindle in hand, reading a wide variety of genres but with YA fantasy and paranormal romance at the forefront of my reading list. Although I’m currently writing the second book in the Driel trilogy, other characters involving all things fantasy, paranormal and YA romance are jockeying for position, wanting me to write their story next, so watch this space! It is such a privilege to share my stories with you the reader. Thank you enough for taking the time to find out more about me.

Building Henrique – clues on the lead character of As Cold As Thorns, my upcoming Gothic novel

As Cold As Thorns now has a release date scheduled: 28th November, the Cyber Monday! Hurra! And I’d like to share some “teaser clues” about the lead character, Henrique.

What I can disclose with you right now is that: he is secretive, he is mysterious, he is ingenious, he is brilliant and he is an artist.

He is both “the love or hate” AND “love and hate” kind of character, with a well balanced male+female personality. (I said personality, his sexual orientation is straight.)

Ladies and Gentlemen, here are some famous characters which could represent different shades of my dear, beloved Henrique:

Willy Wonka

Alice & The Mad Hatter

The Evil Queen

Ichabod Crane

Dorian Gray

If you enjoy characters who are on the dark side and are eccentric by nature, I welcome you to read my novel.
